Rock Creek Recreation (RCR) was established with one simple goal: to provide every child in our region the opportunity to learn, grow, and compete through quality recreational programs.

Our mission is to promote, develop, and sustain youth activities that are accessible to all children in the Rock Creek area and surrounding communities. We believe youth sports do more than teach the fundamentals of a game—they build confidence, encourage teamwork, develop leadership, and create lifelong friendships.

Although Rock Creek Recreation is a newly re-formed recreation department with just one full-time employee, our success is driven by the dedication of countless volunteers, coaches, parents, and community members who generously give their time and talents to our programs.

The need for youth recreation in our community continues to grow. During the 2025 season, more than 1150 children, ages 4 through 14, participated in Rock Creek Recreation programs. Our teams compete with neighboring communities throughout the region, providing local youth with opportunities to develop their skills while representing the Rock Creek area with pride. Each year, our facilities welcome more than 2,000 families, making our recreation facilities a gathering place for our community.

Serving the communities of St. George, Westmoreland, and the surrounding region, we are proud to be located just outside Manhattan, Kansas. As a bedroom community, we do not have the large industrial or corporate base that many organizations rely on for financial support. Because of this, our programs depend heavily on the generosity of local businesses, sponsorships, donations, grants, and community fundraising efforts.

Every sponsorship, donation, volunteer hour, and fundraising contribution directly impacts the children we serve. Your support helps provide equipment, maintain fields and facilities, improve programs, keep participation affordable, and ensure every child has the opportunity to play regardless of financial circumstances.

As we continue to grow, our vision extends beyond today's programs. We are committed to expanding recreational opportunities for youth and families, improving our facilities, and creating a welcoming environment where every child can discover their potential.
